High standards set the tone. AYA begins with
pre-K and goes through eighth grade – just 12 students per grade. Atlanta Youth
Academies has found that a rigorous, traditional college preparatory course of study
boosts our students to enhanced achievement. AYA draws heavily upon professional
friends at Westminster, Lovett and other respected schools for our choice of programs.
Using the Educational Testing Service’s CTP-IV battery of tests, AYA measures students
with the most demanding benchmark. This test program is designed for schools with
high-achieving students and those intent on elevating student achievement to exceptional
levels. Results show that students who have been enrolled at AYA for three consecutive
years or more outperform the CTP-IV national average. Many students at AYA have
shown progress that exceeds national norm groups.
By their eighth grade graduation, AYA students are stable and focused beyond their
years. They are ready for the most arduous high school regimen as well as tests
of character that challenge all young people moving toward the responsibilities
of adulthood.
