Pre-Kindergarten

Children are eager to learn as much as they can about the world around them in the Pre-kindergarten year. Our Pre-K program prepares children for the exciting journey to kindergarten! Our curriculum design works so that each child will experience lots of freedom of choice while also being introduced to a class structure. During the day, children have the opportunity to choose from a variety of classroom learning centers: such as art, dramatic play, science, math, and writing! We teach children practical life lessons that encourage and promote self-esteem through weekly bible lessons. Each classroom is equipped with interactive whiteboards and teachers create innovative ways to introduce students to laptop computers, tablets, and other technology tools.

Our Pre-K students have weekly art class along with heading to the gym for physical education (including swimming). An introduction to Spanish is also included in our Pre-K curriculum.  Atlanta Youth Academy has a low teacher-to-student ratio that enables each child to receive the individual attention needed to learn. Our goal is that every child leaves the Pre-kindergarten class ready to take on Kindergarten.

Kindergarten

The focus of this program is academic preparation that fosters social, emotional, and cognitive development. Individual, small group and large group settings are utilized to facilitate learning. Children are encouraged to learn by doing, experiencing, observing, questioning, imitating, examining, and exploring. A relaxed and informal environment in which a rich variety of activities are provided will allow for individual differences. A positive self-concept is stressed as children learn to be successful. The teacher is the guide in the creation of a setting that will nurture growth and independence.

Social science, vocal and instrumental music, foreign language, art and creative movement enriches the Kindergarten program. Each classroom is equipped with interactive whiteboards and teachers create innovative ways to introduce students to laptop computers, tablets, and other technology tools.

Our Kindergarten students have a weekly art class along with a complete physical education (including swimming) program.  They also have weekly exposure to learning Spanish.
